Cody Ostadsharif M.S.

        Cody is a speech-language pathologist with experience in home-based, clinical-based and school-based practices. She earned her Bachelor of Art and Master of Science degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from San Jose State University. Cody holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA), Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential in CA, and is also licensed by the State of California. Her experience includes but is not limited to: working with children with a variety of communication disorders including: Autism Spectrum, Apraxia, Phonological Disorders, receptive and expressive language delays, and social skills. Cody is certified in PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Targets) and Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) trained.

Carolyn Kern M.S.

        Carolyn Kern, co-owner of Bird-Kern & Dalmia, earned her Masters Degree in Speech Pathology at the University of Washington in 1974. In addition to establishing a private practice, her 37 years of professional experience has included work in hospitals and school districts as well as teaching at the university level. Carolyn has expertise in evaluation and treatment of preschoolers through young adults with a wide variety of speech and language disabilities. She is PROMPT trained and has particular expertise in providing evaluation and therapy for students on the Autism Spectrum or with developmental delays who may demonstrate challenging behaviors. Carolyn also specializes in customizing communication programs for students who are non-verbal or have limited verbal skills, which may include evaluation and implementation of AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication) systems. She has provided consultation services to school districts, private agencies, and group homes. She offers in-service workshops on a variety of topics and has supervised university students in Speech/Language Pathology. Carolyn believes strongly in individualized programming with family/caregiver involvement throughout the therapeutic process.
